About Ed Escobar

Those who know Ed Escobar would truly call his life's journey a "success story". Growing up, money was tight and times were tough, so in order to make extra money, Ed began his sales career at an early age. A natural born salesman, Ed sold everything from potholders to blocks of ice. Wanting more from the world, he entered college at the age of 18 and was asked to leave at the age of 18. Knowing that he needed guidance, Ed joined the Navy in 1969 and realized immediately that this was not what he wanted to do with his life, but he made the best of it by becoming an Operating Room Technician and had the privilege of joining a thoracic team in Bethesda, Maryland. There he learned the tremendous value of precision and skill-building. After 4 years, one month and a day, Ed left the Navy and returned to college to study clinical psychology. He supported himself as a part-time Operating Room Technician.

It was in one of those operating rooms that Ed was struck by the real estate lightning bolt! While assisting a local surgeon, the doctor asked Ed what he was going to do upon completing college. At the time Ed's plan was to attend graduate school. Fortunately, the surgeon saw something special in Ed - the makings of a great salesman. That surgeon offered him a part-time position three days a week in his real estate office with the opportunity to earn $15,000 in his first year. Ed immediately obtained his real estate license in 1976 and soon realized that just about everyone in the state of Florida seemed to have their real estate license too, but few knew what they were doing. He knew that in order to prosper in this new business, he would have to differentiate himself and quickly discovered that training was the key.

Ed enrolled in his first real estate sales training program taught by Max Hudson. Out of a class of 35 students, Max zeroed in on Ed and asked him "How much money do you want to make in the next 12 months?" Ed's reply was "$15,000 and a new car." When asked how he planned to accomplish that goal, Ed simply stated, "I'll work harder than anyone else in the business." Max quickly assured Ed that he would go broke with that strategy and no business plan. Max showed Ed how to generate money mathematically by using a simplistic business plan and it worked! Ed achieved his goal of $15,000 within the next few months and his long and illustrious career in the real estate industry began.

As a top producing real estate agent, Ed received numerous awards for his sales production. Ed decided to take what he had learned from other top producers, Max Hudson and of course, the school of hard knocks and began to position himself as a Master Sales Trainer. While selling real estate franchises for a national organization in 1984, he met Floyd Wickman, who would forever change his life. Floyd had created a powerful spaced-training program called Sweathogs®. While attending this program Ed realized that this was by far the best training program in the industry. Ed and Floyd became business partners with a plan and a passion to bring Sweathogs® to agents across North America. Together they built a powerful organization that graduated over 100,000 students, built on a "We Get by Giving" philosophy, hard work and a passion for helping entrepreneurs realize their dreams.

After selling the company in 2000 to pursue other ventures, it became crystal clear to Ed that spaced training along with accountability was the best approach to creating long term, positive behavioral pattern changes in professional salespeople. Since then, Ed has personally trained and changed the lives of more than 12,000 sales associates and continues to inspire and motivate with his humor and how-to's. He has inspired thousands to take control of their lives and sky rocket their production and income levels. Ed has devoted his entire life to the sales profession he loves and delights in helping agents master the skills they need to succeed. Ed has been blessed in his journey through life and has learned many lessons from many great people. Ed's goal is to share what he has learned with those he meets as he continues his journey. Ed Escobar truly is a Master Salesperson.
